Simple Local Avatars

Adds an avatar upload field to user profiles if the current user has media permissions.

Description
Just edit a user profile, and scroll down to the new “Avatar” field.
The plug-in will take care of cropping and sizing.

Comment
When creating a multi-author project you’ll need to create a decent author page to add a bit of personalisation to the project. One element missing from a standard WordPress install is an easy way to add non-Gravatar avatars. This plugin not only allows an easy way to upload your own avatar, you can add the avatar to a custom author page and the avatar itself will even appear in the Admin bar.

I’ve used this plugin many times and it just does its job, well.

Sounds like a very useful plugin and I certainly will check it out. Thanks for the tip, Lee!
